Who Should Attend?

• Staff selected as First Aiders who need to develop the necessary skills and knowledge to take on the role effectively.
• Individuals with a specific responsibility to provide essential first aid at work, in voluntary roles, or community activities.
Course Purpose
This course equips learners to deliver basic emergency first aid in a wide range of real-life situations, ensuring they can respond confidently and competently to medical emergencies on-site.
Throughout the 1-Day Emergency First Aid at Work course, learners will gain essential knowledge and skills to effectively respond to emergency situations. You will develop a clear understanding of the role of a first aider in line with current legislation and recommendations from the Resuscitation Council (UK).
Practical Training and Assessment
During the course, participants will be assessed while completing a range of practical exercises, including:
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
• Use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
• Managing Unconscious Casualties
• Treating Wounds, Bleeding, and Shock
• Performing Secondary Surveys
• Management of Fractures
At the end of the course, delegates will complete a multiple-choice examination to demonstrate their understanding and competency.
Certification
Successful learners will receive:
• A Certificate of Completion
• An ID Card
Both will be valid for 3 years from the date of the course.
The main aim of this course is to ensure that all learners are fully prepared to manage accidents or incidents on construction sites in line with HSE legislation.
