NVQ Level 2 - Steelfixer

The Level 2 NVQ in Steel Fixing is a competency-based qualification designed to develop essential knowledge and practical skills in the construction industry. Key areas include:

• General Health, Safety, and Welfare in the workplace.

• Confirming Productive Working Practices to ensure efficient operations.


Specialization Options

Learners can specialize in one or more of the following areas:

• Cutting and Bending Reinforcement Steel to shape in the workplace.

• Fixing Steel In Situ in the workplace.

• Prefabricating Reinforcement Steel Sections in the workplace.

Is this NVQ Accredited?

This qualification is supported by CSCS and accredited by either SQA or ProQual, ensuring it meets industry standards and requirements.


CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) provides a registration card scheme widely acknowledged across the construction sector. This scheme recognizes your:

Progression

Upon completing the Level 2 NVQ in Steel Fixing Occupations, you will have gained the skills, knowledge, and understandingrequired to demonstrate competence in your trade.

This qualification provides a clear progression route, allowing learners to advance from Steel Fixer to the Level 3 NVQ in Occupational Work Supervision — preparing you for a role as an Occupational Supervisor.

Entry Requirements

This qualification has no formal entry requirements and can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area. However, learners must have the potential and opportunity to successfully achieve the qualification.

Learners must complete a minimum of TWO optional units:

• Prefabricating Reinforcement Steel Sections in the Workplace

Assessment Process

Once enrolled, you will be assigned a dedicated assessor who will guide you through the qualification process:
