This qualification is designed for Construction Supervisors/Gangers who contribute to the supervision of construction activities. This is not a course but an assessment of competence for Construction work supervisors to prove their organisational, Supervisory and Technical abilities. Supervisors need to be able to establish and develop and maintain good working relationships with workers.
This qualification is supported by CSCS and accredited by either SQA or ProQual, ensuring it meets industry standards and requirements.

Following the removal of the endorsement list for this qualification, specific entry requirements now apply for anyone pursuing the Occupational Work Supervision qualification.
To be eligible, candidates must meet the following criteria:
1. Occupational Industry Experience
• Candidates must demonstrate prior experience in their occupational field before registering for this qualification.
2. Supervisory Experience
• Candidates must have the ability and experience in supervising teams effectively.
3. Occupational Competence
• Candidates must be occupationally competent to at least Level 2 or SCQF Level 5 in Construction.
Evidence Requirements
GR Training ensures that all candidates provide evidence verifying their relevant and verifiable experience. The evidence required must meet one of the following criteria:
• Qualification Evidence:
• Proof of competence, such as an N/SVQ Level 2 or SCQF Level 5 qualification in their occupational area.
• Employer Endorsement:
• A letter from the employer confirming the candidate’s suitability.
• Supplemented by a professional discussion or a portfolio of evidence demonstrating relevant previous experience.

To complete this qualification, candidates must complete all six mandatory units and select a minimum of two optional units from the list below.
Mandatory Units – Complete All Units:
1. Confirming work activities and resources for an occupational work area in the workplace.
2. Developing and maintaining good occupational working relationships in the workplace.
3. Confirming the occupational method of work in the workplace.
4. Implementing and maintaining health, safety, environmental, and welfare practices in the workplace.
5. Co-ordinating and organising work operations in the workplace.
6. Monitoring progress of work against schedules in the workplace.
Optional Units – Complete a Minimum of Two:
• Allocating and monitoring the use of plant, machinery, equipment, or vehicles in the workplace.
• Confirming work meets contractual, industry, and manufacturers’ standards in the workplace.
• Implementing procedures to support team performance in the workplace.
• Co-ordinating and confirming dimensional control requirements of the work in the workplace.
